CGFNS TO BECOME MORE EFFICIENT
CGFNS has announced that it is now able to retrieve educational transcripts
and English examination results that were submitted with previous
applications. The practical effect is that a nurse who submitted educational
documents and/or English examination results as part of the CGFNS exam will
not need to re-submit the educational documents as part of the VisaScreen
process. However, CGFNS will still require the nurse to resubmit current
license verification because CGFNS requires current proof that the license
is unencumbered.

American Hospital Association (AHA) have asked the CIS to delay the
implementation of the forthcoming July 26, 2004 health care worker
credentialing rule. (a.k.a. Visa Screen, which is CGFNS' name for the
process).

US CONSULATE - CHENNAI: VISA SCREEN MAY BE
SUBMITTED LATER
The US Consulate at Chennai, India (formerly Madras) continues to bolster
its reputation as one the most forward-thinking US Consulates. In a recent
correspondence with an HLG attorney, the Consulate confirmed that if an
applicant has already completed and passed her exams, and is simply waiting
for the visa screen certificate, she may attend the interview as scheduled
and then submit the visa screen certificate when she receives it.
