NCLEX TO BE OFFERED IN LONDON, SEOUL, HONG KONG
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has selected the
first three countries to begin offering the NCLEX examinations
internationally. Testing is expected to begin January 2005 in Seoul, South
Korea; London, England; and Hong Kong.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has begun offering
NCLEX testing, through Pearson VUE, for Visa Screen purposes to nurses who
are already licensed in the U.S.

NEW CGFNS POLICY FOR CANADIAN NURSES
CGFNS has implemented two new policies for Canadian nurses in an effort to
expedite processing times for Visa Screens.

CGFNS RELEASES 2003 DATA
CGFNS has released data for 2003 which includes the pass rate for the CGFNS
exam, broken down by country of education.

NO DELAY OF VISA SCREEN LAW YET
Despite efforts by many organizations, the CIS has still not issued a delay
of the July 26, 2004 healthcare worker certificate law. Organizations that
are in favor of a delay include: the U.S. Senate, CGFNS, the American
Hospital Association and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

TEXAS DOH BEGINS ACCEPTING PHYSICIAN'S CONRAD 30
WAIVER APPLICATIONS EARLIER
Previously, the Texas Department of Health did not accept physician's
applications for the Texas Conrad 30 program until October 1st, the first
day of the new fiscal year. However, the Texas Dept. of Health will now
begin accepting applications for the next fiscal year as of September 1st,
2004.

AILF: FOREIGN PROFESSIONAL SHORTAGE HURTS U.S.
In a recent Policy Brief, AILF, The American Immigration Law
Foundation, argues that restrictive U.S. visa policies are beginning to

maintain U.S. preeminence in science and technology.
