ARIZONA EXPECTED TO APPROVE THREE ALTERNATIVES TO CGFNS
The Arizona Board of Nursing is expected to accept three private, alternative credentialing options other than the CGFNS CES. Presently, CGFNS is the only agency authorized by the Arizona Board.

CGFNS GOLF TOURNAMENT
On September 22, 2003, CGFNS will host its first annual Golf Invitational. The tournament will help support the mission and research activities of the Commission with funds going to research, fellowships, and activities to address the nursing shortage in the United States.

NCLEX INVITATIONAL
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing is having its fourth annual NCLEX Invitational in Boston on Friday, September 26, 2003. The program, Constructing the NCLEX of the Future, will cover a review of the NCLEX-RN passing standard process and future initiatives of the NCLEX program. VSC SLOWS PROCESSING
The Vermont Service Center, which had been processing I-140 Schedule A cases for nurses in less then 20 days, has slowed its pace considerably. A representative from the VSC indicated that they had been inundated with new petitions and do not know whether they will be able to recover and offer processing as quickly as they previously offered.
