NCLEX PASS RATES
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has released
statistics on the NCLEX examination for the first half of 2004. The
statistics show two interesting points. First, the pass rate for
internationally educated RN's is 44% compared to 81% for U.S. educated RN's.
Second, 5,107 nurses from the Philippines have taken the NCLEX this year,
representing the highest percentage of international test takers.

On Friday night, October 1, 2004, the CIS announced that it has enough
H-1(b) cases in the pipeline to meet the FY 2005 H-1(b) quota. All
cap-subject cases received after the end of the business day October 1 will
be returned.

Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan recently repeated his long-standing
position that the US is going to need to increase levels of immigration if
